The imminent release of former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile’s new book, Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns that Put Donald Trump in the White House, is creating quite a buzz on the Hill and down on Conspiracy Street.
Sneak previews published earlier this week reveal that the Clinton campaign entered into an agreement, before the nomination, to control daily operations of the 2016 Democratic National Committee (DNC).
Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) is joining the growing movement of people from all political parties to hold Hillary Clinton and her campaign staff accountable for illegally influencing the spring 2016 presidential election primaries in order to rig the nomination pro-Hillary – by paying all the impoverished organization’s bills.
This adds new meaning to the popular expression, “I own you!”
Now, most people would not think of “broke” and “National Democratic Committee” in the same sentence. But Gary Gensler, CFO of the Hillary campaign, told Brazile in a phone call after the July 2016 Democratic convention that the DNC had debt totaling $2 MILLION! How could such a big, powerful, influential outfit like that run out of money?
For one thing, the DNC needs $3.5-$4 million a MONTH to operate, Gensler said.
According to Brazile, her predecessor as DNC Committee Chair, Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, was not an active fundraiser. This was indeed unfortunate because President Barack Obama had put his dearly beloved party in debt. $24 million in debt, to be exact. What, no pay-backs, Barry? Where’s your gratitude, dude?
The Obama campaign promised to pay back their 2012 debt to the DNC in 2016. Give the millionaire’s election team credit for trying, but they returned only $12.5 million to the DNC.
Enter the Hillary for America campaign and its companion Hillary Victory Fund. These two organizations collected hundreds of thousands of dollars above the $2,700 maximum contribution limit imposed on individual supporters. Deposits were made at the state level before funds transferred to DNC headquarters in Brooklyn, NY.
This Democratic campaign contribution money was supposed to go to the ultimate winner of the Democratic nomination. That person might have been the very popular Bernie Sanders. But with the Hillary Victory Fund working against him and all other Democratic hopefuls nationwide, is it any wonder that Sanders bowed out of the race and endorsed his rival Mrs. Clinton in mid-July 2016?
Plain and simple, illegal use of campaign contributions is how the DNC ponied up $10 million to pay off the rest of Obama’s campaign expenses in order to run the Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign. Otherwise, the Democratic Party would have collapsed financially. Perhaps that would not have been such a bad thing?
The Clintons may not have held legal title to the Democratic National Committee, but covering all its operational expenses makes them the de facto owners. Bernie Sanders didn’t stand a chance with Hillary holding the purse-strings behind the presidential nomination process.
In August 2015 – before Hillary won the nomination – the Clinton contingent had control over staffing and strategy decisions.
We know this because Donna Brazile’s book spells it all out. Her investigation began with a promise to Bernie Sanders: to find out if the incriminatory emails, stolen and posted online by Russian hackers, which alleged that the Clintons were buying the 2016 nomination and election were true.
Once leading the DNC, Brazile asked for and got the proof she needed. The Joint Fund-Raising Agreement between the DNC, the Hillary Victory Fund, and Hillary for America was crystal clear. In Brazile’s words:
“The agreement—signed by Amy Dacey, the former CEO of the DNC, and [campaign manager] Robby Mook with a copy to Marc Elias [a campaign lawyer]—specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised. Her campaign had the right of refusal of who would be the party communications director, and it would make final decisions on all the other staff. The DNC also was required to consult with the campaign about all other staffing, budgeting, data, analytics, and mailings.”
Speaking plain English, the 2016 Democratic election nomination was rigged by the candidate who ended up winning the party nomination for the highest elected position in the nation, Commander in Chief of the military.
Consider what might have happened to the impoverished DNC if the kind-spirited, selfless Clintons hadn’t stepped in to save their grits (to sling another down-home-ism). Would it really have wound down and fallen off the board like any other corporation?
Why, the national Democratic Party might have had to have a bake sale!
Lucky for all those Dems – except Bernie Sanders supporters, of course – Uncle Bill and Aunt Hillary were close at hand to pitch right in with sizeable donations to keep the machine grinding toward what they expected would be ultimate victory for the Divine Ms. H.
History, of course, tells another story.
Still, the fact that the Democratic Presidential candidate (Mrs. Clinton) was co-funding the organization established to get her elected raises some serious ethical and legal questions.
Perhaps, at last, Mrs. Clinton will be investigated completely and transparently. Is it too much to hope that consequences suitable to her illegal, anti-American – dare we say TRAITOROUS activities? – be handed down by the highest courts of the land?
Stop the Clinton conspirators now!
