Gun Owners Across The Country Are Under Attack

The writing was already on the wall long before the 2018 midterm elections.

We all knew if the Democrats took over the House, they would once again push to water down our Second Amendment — with an eye towards eventually repealing “our right to bear arms.”

Individual states under Democratic rule have already instituted (in many cases egregious) new state laws that would actually criminalize law-abiding gun owners.

In New Jersey, which already boasts of having one of the most restrictive gun laws in the entire nation, has gone even further under the new leadership of Democratic Governor Phil Murphy.

The new progressive governor, apparently attempting to emulate the antics of former Governor Brown of California, has signed 6-new bills restricting and criminalizing gun ownership.

Among the six bills are measures to expand gun background checks, tighten the handgun carrying permit process, reduce the legal capacity of ammunition magazines and establish a so-called red flag law, which allows people to petition for guns to be temporarily removed from individuals deemed to be dangerous.

At first glance, the bills seem to be reasonable. That is until you drill down a bit. For example under Murphy’s “A2761” new bill, anyone who currently owns a magazine with a capacity of 15-rounds is in violation of the law.

Moreover, Murphy and company seems to have pulled out the magic number 10, as being the legal limit, regardless of the fact that the average capacity for a semi-auto handgun is anywhere from 12-13 rounds.

Moreover the law as written seems quite ambiguous and convoluted in that currently gun shops (as I read the status), aren’t prohibited from selling magazines with 15 rounds or more capacity, however the new law now “criminalizes” currently 1-million New Jersey gun owners who previously were law-abiding citizens, because they refuse to hand over their magazines to the state. Moreover risk being felons and facing up to 18 months in prison and up to $10,000 in fines or both for each magazine found, in their possession.

In Missouri, a Kansas City couple claims they’re being discriminated by Democratic lawmakers, denying them the right to care for additional foster children because they are gun owners.

James and Julie Attaway already have one foster child and two biological children in their home. However current state laws prohibit them from welcoming additional foster children into their home if they possess or carry “loaded functional firearms.” Moreover, the state under the new gun law can now take away the foster child.

In Washington state progressive lawmakers passed another bill to add on to their already strict gun laws. Initiative 1639, a sweeping measure to beef up gun-regulations, passed Tuesday with 60% of the vote.

The new 30-page bill as reported by Q13 Fox would raise the legal age to purchase semi-automatic assault rifles and requires enhanced background checks. The bill would also mandate “storage requirements” and increased penalties on gun owners who fail to comply.

On the federal level, House Democrats now feel empowered in passing additional gun laws limiting law-abiding gun ownership. The overt shift in attitude is due to the fact that 62 out of the 63 House seats “flipped” are now controlled by anti-gun activists, looking to limit a citizen’s “right to bear arms.”

That shift is being reflected as more and more House Democrats along with state legislators within Democratically controlled states push for more egregious laws targeting law-abiding gun owners.

In a recent WSJ/NBC poll, the majority of Democratic voters rated the issue of gun control the second-most important issue after healthcare

Ironically while Democrats call for more and more gun control, cities like Chicago are plagued with historic gun violence, year after year despite having the strictest gun laws in the entire nation.

Perhaps if Democrats would actually concentrate on criminals rather on law-abiding gun owners, the gun violence in cities like Chicago would begin to decrease dramatically.

The only way the 2nd Amendment can be changes is: (1) Both houses propose an amendment with a two-thirds vote, and three-fourths of the state legislatures approve. Twenty-six of the 27 amendments were approved in this manner. (2) Both houses propose an amendment with a two-thirds vote, and three-fourths of the states approve the amendment via ratifying conventions. Only the 21st Amendment, which repealed Prohibition, was passed in this manner. (3) Two-thirds of the state legislatures call on Congress to hold a constitutional convention, and three-fourths of the state legislatures approve the amendment. (4) Two-thirds of the state legislatures call on Congress to hold a constitutional convention, and three-fourths of the states approve the amendment via ratifying conventions. Bottom line is that changing the 2nd Amendment has a snowball’s chance in hell.

You are coming out of far RIGHT FIELD saying they want to take away your guns–that is NOT true. They just want to get some proper background checks. And establish rules that will arrest you if you take a gun in certain places (Without a concealed carry permit).

Another good reason NOT to register guns!!! As tho criminals do that anyway!!! Whatever happened to “common sense”… A weapon cannot hurt anyone unless a person is shooting it…Last time I looked, gun/s resting in a closet never hurt anyone…
