There’s an old saying that simply states “you can’t teach an old dog, new tricks.”
Moreover, a serial liar being grilled by a congressional committee for close to 9-hours will eventually resort to lying their way out of trouble when confronted by past criminal activity.
Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), accused disgraced former Trump attorney Michael Cohen before the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Wednesday of hiding a previously undisclosed and overlooked illegal activity.
The stunned former attorney, appearing haggard after his second day of being crossed examined attempted to convince skeptical Republicans that this time he was telling the truth, in spite of the fact he was going away to prison for 3-years, for lying to Congress, the FBI and banking executives, regarding an array of fraudulent self-enriching schemes.
The “sad-sack” disbarred attorney attempted to position himself as a reformed liar, bravely attempting to set the record straight by targeting the President of the United States with a barrage of disparaging personal attacks.
He referenced the President as a “racist” and a “con-man,” to the delight of Democrats who chaired this “three-ring circus” giving Cohen a platform to once again spew his hatred for the President, who was abroad in Vietnam attempting peace negations with a despot dictator.
As stated at the beginning of this piece, “old dogs” have a tough time with “new tricks,” and that’s when Meadows began asking “hound-dog” Cohen about his job status with the President-elect before he was fired?
Cohen claimed under oath that he never sought a job in the Trump White House; however, that claim was debunked by countless witnesses who acknowledge that Cohen was determined to get a role in the White House.
Moreover, the stunning disclosure that he failed to properly disclose contracts with foreign companies, such as Kazakhstan’s BTA Bank. The bank paid him to help recover stolen assets in the U.S., but he reportedly entered into the agreement without registering as required under federal law. May, in fact, put him once again in legal jeopardy. After his exchange with Cohen on the matter, Meadows requested a criminal investigation.
“I just entered a referral for criminal investigation of Michael Cohen, who violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act by illegally lobbying on behalf of foreign entities without registering.”
“Cohen talks about “blind loyalty.” His real blind loyalty? It’s to the almighty dollar.”.

Even CNN weighted in on Cohen’s dishonesty, suggesting that the former attorney was likely lying in his Congressional testimony when he told Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) that he had not wanted a job with the White House.
CNN’s Dana Bash called that claim into question, pointing out that CNN’s reporting indicated that Cohen was indeed eagerly seeking a position in the White House.
“One potential problem that I thought Michael Cohen has is when he was asked if he wanted a job in the White House, and he said no,” she said. “Our reporting, I know, Pam you have been told and I have been told, all of us, by people in and around the process real time, he very much wanted a job in the White House.”
Jake Tapper agreed, saying, “I think a lot of us here raised our eyebrows because we knew it to not be true.”
