A stunning 34-second video clip of Attorney Debra Katz, all but admitting that her client’s goal was to smear conservative Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh to the degree that he would have an asterisk next to his name, when and if the issue of abortion ever came before him, is astounding.
That mind-numbing disclosure that Christine Blasey Ford along with her attorney would willfully attempt to destroy the character, reputation and career of another individual, for political expediency is unforgivable and needs to be immediately investigated by congress.
The video taken at a “feminist Legal Theory Conference” this past April and hosted by the University of Baltimore, Attorney Debra Katz discusses how her client Christine Blasey Ford was motivated in accusing Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct primarily because of the abortion issue, in particular, Roe v. Wade.
“In the aftermath of these hearings, I believe that Christine’s testimony brought about more good than the harm misogynist Republicans caused by allowing Kavanaugh on the court,” Katz said in the conference’s keynote address.
Adding, “He (Kavanaugh) will always have an asterisk next to his name. When he takes a scalpel to Roe v. Wade, we will know who he is, we know his character, and we know what motivates him, and that is important; it is important that we know, and that is part of what motivated Christine.”
According to The Daily Caller, the video first came to light by author Ryan Lovelace who was researching the events and aftermath for his new book “Search and Destroy: Inside the Campaign Against Brett Kavanaugh,” regarding the brutal confirmation hearings, which not only mesmerized the nation but also divided the sexes and the wider issue of “equal justice under the law” along with “due process.”
Lovelace contends in his book, that if Ford’s initial motive for accusing Judge Kavanaugh was in part politically motivated, senators would have questioned her a lot differently more inline with what takes place in a traditional courtroom between a prosecutor and a defense attorney.
To this day Lovelace acknowledges to the Daily Caller, “A lot of people ask if Christine Blasey Ford was lying.”
Adding, “To know that, you have to know her motivation,” the author continued. “Since she has not talked to me directly, the best way I can understand what she is thinking is by what her lawyer is saying. And her lawyer says that she is motivated, at least in part, by Roe v. Wade protecting legalized abortion.”
That stunning revelation contradicts the centurial issue of what Ford testified to during her sworn testimony before congress.
“Before the confirmation, Ford had maintained that she came forward out of a sense of civic duty to provide information that she thought senators needed to know before voting on Kavanaugh,” Lovelace wrote in “Search and Destroy.”
The author believes that the brief video calls into question the true intent of both Ford and Katz’s appearance during the September hearings
“I think if we knew in September what we know now, there would have been all kinds of questions at the hearing about this,” he told the DCNF. The author said he believes there will be more scrutiny going forward, saying that this is part of the reason he penned “Search and Destroy.”
Adding, “I want people to look for themselves and to understand for themselves,” he said.
Katz also acknowledged that Ford’s background played a key role in almost torpedoing Kavanaugh confirmation to the Supreme Court, suggesting at the same Baltimore conference in April that Ford’s race, background, class, and academic record made it possible for Ford to accuse Kavanaugh.
“We must ponder the very real possibility that had Dr. Ford not come from the same background, and the same race, and the same class, and the same country club as Brett Kavanaugh, had she not had an impeccable academic record, and stellar professional credentials, if she was not on the faculty of Stanford with 70 publications to her name, if she wasn’t married to a man with two children, would she have been given the opportunity?” Katz said in April, according to a passage from “Search and Destroy.”
Moreover, after viewing the brief video clip, one thing is certain, we need to hear from Christine Blasey Ford again, and under oath.
