The impeachment inquisition concocted by Speaker Pelosi took another interesting turn recently, as a coalition of 40 concerned conservative groups filed an ethics complaint against the 79-year old California lawmaker.
Cited were a litany of infractions, including using her position as Speaker, to usurp the executive branch by politicizing and “weaponizing” the most somber and awesome responsibilities bestowed to the House of Representatives by our Founders, the ritual of prescribing article of impeachment, performed according to prescribed order and tradition.
In a complaint led by Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots to the Office of Congressional Ethics, Martin outlined her grievance to the board’s chairman, David Skaggs, regarding Speaker Pelosi’s personal vendetta against the President, and her unbridled partisan and unconstitutional investigation.
“Speaker Pelosi’s conduct is an encroachment across the constitutionally-mandated separation of powers. She has no business examining or investigating the President’s legitimate exercise of his authority to determine the foreign and national security policy of the United States,” the complaint stated.
The complaint continued, “In launching her ‘official’ impeachment inquiry without the benefit of a vote of the full House of Representatives and without indicating anything remotely qualifying as ‘treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors’ that is the subject of the inquiry, Speaker Pelosi has weaponized impeachment.”
Adding, “She and her Democratic colleagues are using the impeachment process as a weapon of partisan political battle, rather than as the means to defend the Constitution our Framers meant it to be.”
In a statement to The Hill, Martin opined “The genie cannot be put back in the bottle. All that ‘evidence’ that has been gathered before the casting of a single vote is tainted by the corrupt, secret process in which it was gathered. It is poisoned, and must be discarded for the sake of fairness, Speaker Pelosi’s latest impeachment gambit — at last, a vote of the full House! — is merely a continuation of her ongoing roughshod-running.”
The 40 conservative groups represent a cross-section of news outlets, political activist groups, and conservative think-tanks.

On another impeachment front, Florida Republican Rep Matt Gaetz was also busy filing an ethics complaint against House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, his number one nemesis on Wednesday citing “rules broken” and “false statements” made by the untrustworthy Chairman.
Gaetz tweeted soon after filing the complaint “Today I filed an ethics complaint against @RepAdamSchiff for: Distorting @POTUS’s call with President Zelensky; Lying to the public about ‘Russian Collusion;’ Blocking Members of Congress from attending impeachment depositions.”
Adding “Schiff must be held accountable.”
In an interview on Fox Gaetz elaborated further that Schiff’s corrupt behavior was “grossly misrepresenting the content of the call to the American people” and argued Schiff’s “bizarre distortion” of the call was in violation of House rules.
“This behavior does not ‘reflect credibility on the House,’ nor does it follow ‘the spirit and the letter of the Rules of the House,’” Gaetz said. “It is incumbent on Members of Congress to be accurate and honest to the American people, and Chairman Schiff has been neither.”
Gaetz continued, “Unfortunately, Mr. Schiff’s behavior cannot be construed as an ‘honest mistake,’ as it is long-standing and habitual.
Whether filing ethics violations against Pelosi and Schiff can actually solve anything at this moment is in doubt. In that the impeachment resolution, by definition is still an inquiry and not a formal impeachment, moreover, politicians regardless of which side of the aisle you sit on, have carved out decades ago immunity for themselves…in that these are the only individuals in America that can engage in insider trading, and not go to prison…we all recall poor Martha Stewart being carted off to jail, for what corrupt politicians do daily.
