Sneaky Dems Add No-Holds Voting To Virus Response Law

“You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”
– Rahm Emanuel, former Democratic Illinois Congressman who became the first White House chief of staff for President Barack Obama and then the mayor of Chicago

“Never waste a good crisis…Don’t waste it when it can have a very positive impact on climate change and energy security.”
– Hilary Clinton, U.S. Secretary of State under President Barack Obama and failed 2016 Democratic Presidential candidate

Despite soothing words from top Democrats that a “good” crisis – such as the current coronavirus pandemic – can be exploited to introduce helpful innovations, it’s clear the liberals serve their own agenda with little regard to anything but self-preservation.

Determined since losing the 2016 presidential bid to oust the GOP administration under Donald Trump, the Donkeys are now proposing to add relaxed voting laws to COVID-19 response measures.

U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) are co-sponsoring a new bill that would broaden early voting and no-excuse absentee vote-by-mail access to all states – just in time for the November elections.

The Democratic duo speaks for many fellow party members who are still beating the “Russian 2016 election interference” drum, despite no hard evidence that this actually happened. They claim that their law provides election security and all attempts to block it are anti-American.

Klobuchar and Wyden justified the new legislation in a joint statement:

“In times of crisis, the American people cannot be forced to choose between their health and exercising their right to vote.”

Wyden claimed:

“America could be faced with a choice this fall of either Americans being able to vote, which means voting by mail, or not voting at all. That’s not even a close call.”

Democratic House Speaker Pelosi’s coronavirus plan includes national access to early voting and voting by mail and seeks “billions” in grant funding for state election administration issues. In addition, there is a mandatory 15-day early voting provision, no-excuse absentee voting, and a requirement that registered voters get ballots by postal mail in any emergency.

Votes would be delivered – and returned – by the U.S. Postal Service, the same organization that routinely delivers people’s mail to their neighbor’s mailboxes. Ballots would be sent to addresses of deceased persons or those who have moved with no new address on record, providing more opportunity for voter fraud by mail theft.

The Pelosi bill allows biased political candidates, consultants, and activists to collect completed absentee ballots. This unsavory practice is termed ballot harvesting.

On March 23, Republican Rep. Andy Harris, MD, tweeted his concerns about the Democrats’ proposed relaxed voting laws:

“No voter ID to get a ballot, and anonymous “ballot harvesting”…why is that hidden in Speaker Pelosi’s coronavirus bill? These are issues that shouldn’t be addressed at this time.”

Dr. Harris quoted part of the bill:

“If an individual in a State is eligible to cast a vote in an election for Federal office, the State may not impose any additional conditions or requirements on the eligibility of the individual to cast the vote in such election by absentee ballot by mail, including –

“(A) requiring any form of identification as a condition of obtaining the absentee ballot; [emphasis added]

“(B) requiring notarization or witness signature or other formal authentication (other than voter attestation) as a condition of the acceptance of the ballot by an election official.” [emphasis added]

No ID to vote? No voter authentication on absentee ballots? This is frightening to anyone interested in conducting a fair election.

Just how are these slack provisions supposed to introduce “security” to the federal election process?

One critic of the Pelosi coronavirus response plan that includes expanding opportunities for voter fraud warned:

“That means the next president would be determined by ballots that have been marked behind closed doors by who knows who, perhaps collected and dropped in the mail (or not) by another who knows who, and then swiftly processed by the U.S. Postal Service, the same organization that routinely delivers us our neighbor’s mail.”

According to that analyst, a mailed vote is “the single worst form of election possible” because it removes the casting of election ballots from “the oversight of election officials and into places where the most vulnerable can be exploited by political operatives.”

The bill also calls for states to start processing and scanning ballots 14 days before Election Day before all ballots have been cast. This sets the stage for more election manipulation by reporting early voting results to sway voter opinion.

Pelosi’s bill requires states to permit online voter registration and online requests for absentee ballots, inviting cybercriminals to commit more election fraud.

Worse, states would have to allow same-day registration. Voters can register in line on Election Day before casting a ballot. This gives election officials no opportunity to authenticate the voter registration.

The Democrats expect the COVID-19 to interfere with the 2020 national elections. If the viral infection dies down by then, the lax laws will still be in place.

State laws currently allow absentee ballots if needed for the general election. A federal mandate is not necessary.

The Democrats’ cynical plot to capitalize on a national health crisis and undermine the November elections – and those beyond – is nothing short of deplorable.
